Julie Bessard

colored sensations

Saint Louis, Marie Galante.png

When she paints a canvas, Julie Bessard travels between two dimensions. On the one hand, her mind is reviewing all the existing paintings she has memorized throughout her career. On the other hand, she is absorbed by the movement of her hand - which she constantly directs towards new compositions and pictorial forms. That's why Julie's paintings are unlike any other.

"The moment a canvas' composition seems self-contained, the moment it truly expresses something, then it comes alive and I can let go."

Between impulse and knowledge

Abstract paintings that embark us in colorful sensations, which make us feel each in turn a distinct and powerful emotion.
