Gaston

CREOLE ART HOUSE

You certainly know the postcards' Carribbean, coconut palms and white sand beaches… But have you ever heard of our artists?

Another story of the West Indies

On our islands, there is a frisson, a shared beat, which ✧ is expressed in a thousand and one ways depending on the sensibilities. Our artists let theirs speak for themselves.

Our reason why

Guadeloupe, Martinique, Saint-Martin, Saint-Barthélémy, we are an exception: French islands in the mainly English- and Spanish-speaking Caribbean. Amerindian, European, African, Indian, Lebanese-Syrian and Asian roots intertwined on a small island... historically tied to France.

La Maison Gaston represents artists from Guadeloupe and Martinique. To tell our story through art, to finally become visible.

We exhibit in partner galleries and at art events. Here are a few examples.

Maison & Objet, CRAFT Pavilion
Wawi Gallery
TAFETA Gallery, London
Élysée Palace
Bikaner House, New Delhi
Rue Buffault, Paris
AKAA Fair, Carreau du Temple
...

Why choose us ?

Beyond telling you about the West Indies differently, beyond fighting prejudice, Gaston is also a project that is built around the values of diversity, inclusion and openness.

01

An initiative to make you discover the artists of our islands. Their unvarnished narration, their inspiration, their approach gathered at Gaston for all art lovers.

02

An initiative to support the local economy. Our artists are mostly based in the West Indies. Giving them more visibility is a way of creating economic activity and sustaining their employment.

03

An initiative to build bridges between our islands and the world. To inspire each other, imagine new artistic practices together and ultimately better understand each other.
